First District PTA is delighted to invite you to our Superintendents & Administrators Conference! This year’s keynote speaker, Araceli Simeón, will present an interactive workshop on the importance and strategies for using the Priority 3 Self-Reflection Tool: Parent Engagement.
Thanks to the passage of the PTA co-sponsored Assembly Bill 2978, research-based family engagement guidance and practices were added into the California Education Code. This change to the LCFF priorities provides schools, districts and parents access to research-based best practices for family engagement and involvement.
This presentation seeks to increase an understanding of family engagement research, history, and current shifts in the movement. We will also review and gather feedback on CDE’s revised family engagement self-reflection tool.
This workshop would be of great benefit to LCAP coordinators and we encourage you to invite their participation as well.
